SimpleMind Pro App Reviews

iCloud, anyone?

Like other reviewers, I find the file management to be needlessly complex. Apple has devoted a lot of effort to make iCloud support available for app developers and end users. I have purchased the desktop version and the iOS app. Why can’t Mindmaker Tools use iCloud for file management? Would update my review to 5 stars when iCloud support is offered. EDIT: Just noticed the date of my review. No, this isn’t an April Fool’s post.

GOODNESS is depend ONLY on persistance and striving for goal!!!

Mind Mapping tool

Radiant thnkers will enjoy this digital tool to document their thoughts and the pathways thereof as they plan events or document goals. I have used it to help me organize my thoughts in a variety of areas of my life - home, family, volunteer work, business, hoiiday celebrations, and even metaphysics.

I Agree That

this application is sweet! It looks so beautiful. And it’s features continue to improve. I especially like the adding images, auto numbering, and linking to other mind maps features.

Game Changer!

I started using SimpleMind about two months ago. I use it to clear my mind, to organize my thoughts, to develop a a visual represenation of tasks to do, outline lectures that I am preparing, etc. It is so wonderful! Thanks for making it so easy to use and attractive!

Love this App, but printing needs MAJOR improvement

I love this app. Couldn’t wait to plot my novel and that’s where I ran into issues. I made a logical flow of chapters, scenes, subplots, etc. Over thirty chapters. However, when I went to print to pdf, it reduced the text with over thirty chapters all onto ONE page! No matter what I did, I could not change this. So I was stuck doing a ‘print screen’ then copy/pasted each pic onto a separate page, then save/as .pdf and printing out 5 to 6 pages of text that I can now read! MAJOR fail! Fix this and I would rate this a five-star program.

best app

lovely

Great writing tool

I love SimpleMind to diagram my stories. It’s easy to list out all my characters, places, and even scenes.

User friendly

This application is far from intimidating. A few minutes and you can be pro!

Simple yet powerful

SimpleMind has become my favorite mind mapping software. The Dropbox sync works great with the iPad application, which makes a really powerful combination. SimpleMind provides a great balance of simplicity and power. The interface is clean, the lines are beautiful, and the keyboard shortcuts make working with the mind map really efficient. Each release keeps getting better. Cant wait to use the new auto-layouts. Well worth the money!

More Powerful

After having my other MindMap apps crash due to critical errors, or just no longer get updated and get abandoned by developers, I returned to SimpleMind. What I like about it is the ability to create folders and subfolders for my mindmaps, create links between the different maps, and write notes about a topic that doesnt visually interfere with the map. The export options are AWESOME. I use PDF to export my maps into Scrivener...and HTML to see/cut/paste the outline to whatever app I am working in. There are other options to export, but I use the PDF and HTML the most. The colors and styles give me the option to change the look, which keeps things from getting visually boring, and its super easy to use. Im so happy that this product continues to improve.

Absolutely Amazing

I am amazed by the richness of this application. It has a number of advanced and useful features not available in any other applications of this class. I have another desktop application that cost me several hundred dollars and it pales in comparison to SimpleMInd. This is my “go-to” application to organize projects and brainstorm new ideas. I am an engineer and I use “SimpleMind" to assist me in developing requirements, and in supporting my work in the design, development and integration phases of my projects. You can’t go wrong buying this application. Franky, I feel guilty paying as little as I did for this amazing application.

Great Tool!

Highly intuitive tool for brainstorming, mind-mapping and project planning! Love the ability to synch via my Dropbox account across multiple Macs and iOS devices.

Decent app, nothing to write home about

The app does ok, it has a few problems that I find massively frustrating. 1. File Management: It has some obsurce frustrating system for storing, naming, managing files outside of the operating system. I hate the .smmx file format and it does nothing valuable. 2. UI/UX Design: The software looks like it was designed for Windows 98 then ported over the OSX and constantly updated without a full revision of the architecture. The UI/UX is annoying and slow to use.

Fantastic App

Loved the free version - ended up buying the full version, and happy that I did. Great tool for brainstorming / capturing processes. Love the ability to move / organize as you like. Ability to share, pick colors, etc. is great. Free version is good, but if you want to share / export / etc., the full version is the way to go. I’m a visual person, so this is like having a whiteboard on my Mac - wherever I’m at. Should have bought the full version a long time ago!!

Great for brainstroming and mapping out story ideas

I really like the app. I use it to map out stories and I like how easy it is to create idea clusters and then later have these feed into the bigger picture story elements.

No Learning Curve

I wanted a simple mind mapping software that did not require a learning curve. I downloaded the free version first and then upgraded to the paid version. The paid version allowed me to transfer my maps from my iMac to my iPad — pretty seamlessly. I also like there is no set page size instead the page grows with the mind map. I intend to export my mindmaps and print them poster size. I have not created a printed version yet, but I have successfully exported and then imported the image into photoshop, so I don’t anticipate any issues.

Simple. Intuitive. Effective.

I have used a lot of mind and project mapping applications in my day and this one takes the prize. It is quick, efficient and very intuitive. The interface is very user friendly and it took no time at all for me to find any and all functions I have been looking for. This application allows you to easily edit your layout and other effects (color, lines, etc.) even mid project. Definitely worth the price.

Loving the useful updates!

I’ve been using SimpleMind now for years, across all my devices. It’s become quite a flexible tool, allowing me to make several types of diagrams. The color, shape, text options help to make for some really nice design.

Powerful yet easy to use

I am using this to map ontological concepts for a specialized vocabulary. It is easy to use, has a great interface, and powerful enough to the do the job. I am using the paid version and it is well worth the price.
