The mind map that I ended using after trying many.

This is doing pretty much what I want it to do. I find the algorithm to lay things out in non-strict format to be a bit funky. But the strict mindmap layout works well enough. Maybe implementing an electrostatic repulsion method would help layout things out.

Being able to post URL to share my maps would be my asbolute favourite new feature!

Overall, it is well worth the modest investment.
