Great Potential

I believe that this application has excellent potential, but I do have a few things that I feel should be addressed that are particularly irritating to me with the Desktop version.

1. Can’t access file links once the application is closed with the App Store Desktop version.

I use mind maps for many purposes. One of them is to organize configuration files for various applications with links to the files for making changes. With the App Store version you can make the link and edit the file, but once SimpleMind is closed and reopened you can no longer click the link to open the file. You’ll get a permission error. The Desktop version from the web-site does not have this problem.

2. I often exchange files with Freemind/Freeplane users. Freemind .mm imports are supported but links are not properly imported into SimpleMind.

3. No file folder import utility. This wouldn’t be a big deal for me if the Freemind file import actually included file links.

With these issues addressed I’d probably change my rating to a 4 - 4 1/2 versus 3 stars.
