General review and comment about current version
I love smplemind and use it constantly for lots of things from writing academic papers to plannng trips. I’ve tried many other visual mind mapping programs and always return to simplement because of its flexibility. My only problem with it, and this is a big one, is that simplemend’s articulation with dropbox is clunky. Each simplemind map has to be manually stored in dropbox. It’s not possible to leave mindmaps in dropbox and have them automatically saved to dropbox. Simplemind has a time stamp which is good, but that creates lots of dated versions of the same map in dropbox with no easy way to move them around as past versions. One can export lots of mindmaps at one time, but the titles get lost. Thus, I rarely save simplemind maps and live in fear that I will lose a lot of work and thought should something happen to them. (So far it hasn’t.)
My comment about the current version is that I like having the option of looking at an outline of the points I’m working with. However, I really miss the reorder option in the drop down commands. I use a lot of icons to orient myself, but those are stripped away in the outline version.
I highly recommend simplemind, but if you are like me and have lots of mind maps, you may end up with the same frustration I have with the dropbox articulation.
